About Us...
The Wharton Club - Who we are
The Wharton Club of the United Kingdom was founded more than 25 years ago. The purpose of the Club is to provide a forum for interaction amongst alumni, while supporting the School and the Wharton brand. As the largest Alumni Club outside of the US, we have about 1500 Wharton alumni living in the United Kingdom. Our Club is exclusive for Wharton Alumni, if you have a Wharton degree from the Wharton School – undergraduate, graduate or special programs – you are welcome and encouraged to join. Wharton needs your support in the UK!
Activities - What we do
The Club offers a wide range of social, educational and career development activities throughout the year. These events range from casual alumni drinks to professional events with a panel of expert speakers. Some of our events are quite exclusive and tailor-made to our alumni, like the Degas reception for Wharton at the Royal Academy. Our speakers have included senior representatives from a wide range of industries, visiting professors from The Wharton School, and members of government. Often these events are held in interesting venues or private cubs. In addition, The Wharton Club has relationships with many of the other alumni clubs in London which open their events for the benefit of Wharton alumni.
Members - Who can join
Club members range from recent graduates to successfully retired alumni in Monaco. An extensive range of industries and functional skills are represented, as is a wide spectrum of nationalities. A directory of alumni living in the United Kingdom is published and available to members through this website.
Joining
There is an annual membership fee. This cost is to cover the administrative expenses of maintaining the database, organisation of events, and mailings and e-mail communications of events. We hope you will become part of one of the largest Wharton alumni clubs in the world!
Management - How we're structured
The Club is a non-profit association managed by a President, Board and Committee. The President is elected and Board and Committee are selected by the President and recommended by the current Board and Committee. All alumni serve on a voluntary basis. Members are welcome to participate in this management process, by volunteering and taking on leadership positions at the Club.
