About Us...
The Wharton Club
The Wharton Club of the United Kingdom was founded more than
25 years ago. The purpose of the Club is to provide a forum for interaction
amongst alumni. There are more than 600 Wharton alumni living in the United
Kingdom. Anyone with a degree from The Wharton School – undergraduate, graduate
or special programs – is welcome and encouraged to join.
Activities
The
Club offers a wide range of social, educational and career development
activities throughout the year. These events range from dinner or drinks parties
with speakers, seminars and social events such as the Henley Regatta, concerts
and dinner dances. The speakers have included senior representatives from a wide
range of industries, visiting professors from The Wharton School, and members of
government. Often these events are held in interesting venues or private cubs.
In addition, The Wharton Club has relationships with many of the other alumni
clubs in London which open their events for the benefit of Wharton
alumni.
Management
The Club is a
non-profit association managed by officers and committee members who are elected
by the membership and serve on a voluntary basis. Members are welcome to
participate in this management process.
Members
Club members range
from recent graduates to retirees. An extensive range of industries and
functional skills are represented, as is a wide spectrum of nationalities. A
directory of alumni living in the United Kingdom is published and distributed to
members.
Joining
The annual membership
fee is £30. This cost is to cover the administrative expenses of maintaining the
database, organisation of events, and mailings and e-mail communications of
events. We hope you will become part of one of the largest Wharton alumni clubs
in the world.
