Prof. Bellace will be addressing the Wharton Alumni club of hte UK on the topic 'The UN global Compact: What are Companies Agreeting to?'.  Most large companies have voluntarily signed the UN Global Compact which has ten clauses.  The obligation (e.g., not to engage in forced labour) are stated in a few words.  Yet the content of these obligations can only by understood in light of much longer conventions and documents of the UN and the UN bodies.  Moreover, many NGOs take the position that a company is responsible for ensuring that its suppliers abide also by these principles, something that may be quite difficult with global supply chains.  Hence, this topic is gername to most businesses today.

Event very kindly organized by Roger Low (WG '71) and Sarah Ryan (WG '05)
