This evening we cross continents in the company of two highly acclaimed novelists. Shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize for her memoir The Devil that Danced on the Water, Aminatta Forna has returned to fiction with The Memory of Love, a tender yet gritty account of love and war in Sierra Leone. Joining Aminatta is Sarita Mandanna, whose stunning debut novel Tiger Hills is set against the rolling coffee plantations of Southern India in 1878. It tells the tale of Devi, a young Indian girl who falls in love with a celebrated tiger hunter, driving a bitter wedge between her and her childhood sweetheart. Join us as these gifted writers explore how their work has been shaped by their very different backgrounds.

Tickets: Free, email events@foyles.co.uk to reserve a place.
