Since time immemorial humans have lusted after a valuable substance famous for its characteristic yellow shine: beer. Credited by historians for being the major motivation for early civilisations to adopt agriculture, this amber ambrosia soothes our stress, facilitates our friendships, and widens our waists.

Now you can learn how to brew this liquid gold yourself — or at least understand some of the common pitfalls in trying to do so. Alex Grove (WG ‘07) has been home brewing in London since 2016 and will introduce you to what equipment you need to start (a bucket) and where you can take the hobby.
