The Wharton Alumni AI Studio is a new initiative of Wharton Alumni and Friends aiming to strengthen the connection between Business Professionals, Domain Experts, and Researchers in Artificial Intelligence.

In our Research and Collab Series, we will analyze bleeding-edge research in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning models, and their implications on our everyday lives. Most importantly we will discuss what can be done with ML/AI algorithms in several industries with combinations of diverse traditional machine learning and new deep learning models. We will talk about which products and services can be created or improved by Machine Learning algorithms.

In this meeting, we will at the same time discuss the newest OpenAI architecture and some very interesting results. DALL·E 2 is a new AI system that can create and modify realistic images and art from a description in natural language. It is an evolution of the renowned DALL·E model that was published a year ago. Compared to DALL·E 1, DALL·E 2 produces more realistic and greater resolution images.

We will organize another, special meeting, where we will discuss the technical side of this evolution due to new model architecture, called diffusion models, that allowed the OpenAI team to build a new and better model from the ground up. Apart from the impressive challenges this model tackles, it is a great opportunity for many people in many industries to push forward the limits of creativity. Though those results are impressive, potential applications are still to be uncovered and potential societal risks have to be mitigated.

Join us for a one-hour session where we will discuss all of those points from an engineering and business perspective. This workshop will start with a discussion of the foundational parts of the research paper published by OpenAI a few weeks ago, and its potential industrial applications and social risks. Then we will approach possibilities and practical applications of different ML/AI techniques in interesting economic sectors.

M.Sc Master of Science - Strategy - HEC

M.Sc Mathematics - Université Paris Dauphine - PSL

M.Sc Quantitative Economics - École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay

Adrien is a graduate of HEC Paris, ENS Paris-Saclay and Paris Dauphine. He worked on research on Machine Learning related topics at Paris Dauphine University and MIT. He had worked with numerous startups, mostly helping newly formed teams to develop and get to the production of ML-based solutions. Adrien founded a MedTech company helping oncologists treat their patients through genomics and AI. He is currently advising mid and large-size companies willing to implement AI and data processing in their business processes. Adrien is nowadays is Data CTO in La Redoute.
