New Leadership and Skills in Financial Services
Wednesday 13 March

This event is supported by Deloitte

Leadership in an age of disruption is challenging the management paradigms of financial services, yet opening doors for those with the right skills. What are the critical skills to succeed now in financial services and fintech? How can these skills be developed or enhanced at different stages of your career? What can businesses do to support employees as they learn? Or accelerate learning? Let’s speak with some amazing panellists as we explore leadership in an age of digital transformation.

Jane Butler is Vice Dean for Engineering at UCL and co-founder of IDEALondon, a post-accelerator centre in the heart of London’s Tech City, run by Cisco, UCL Engineering and EDF Energy. Previously, she had a distinguished career at Cisco where she was involved in positioning the company in many new global markets. Her work with the organisation also connected whole generations of students to the internet in Africa, Asia and South America, with a training programme educating thousands of young people from these regions.

George Karibian has co-founded five high growth, tech-enabled b2b start-ups: Euroffice (e-commerce) , XLN Telecoms (telco), Paymentsense (card processing), Capital on Tap (alternative lending ) and Judopay (mobile payments). His companies have featured on the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 on a dozen occasions. George has a software development background and an MBA from Wharton, where he currently serves on its Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.

Paulette Rowe (MBA 93J) globally leads payments and financial services partnerships at Facebook. Previously, she was the managing director of Global Payments Acceptance at Barclaycard. She's also served as Strategy Director of NBNK Investments and was the Commercial and Marketing Director of Tesco Personal Finance Ltd. She joined Tesco Personal Finance from Royal Bank of Scotland Group, where she served as Chief Executive of RBS European Consumer Finance. Prior to that, she served as the NatWest Managing Director of Retail at RBS.
