Bios:

Tyler Christie, WG '09

Tyler Christie is an investor and entrepreneur who has 20+ years founding, scaling and investing in high growth technology companies focusing on sustainability. Most recently, he founded Figtree Impact Advisors where he supports impact companies and funds scaling growth technologies. Previously, as Managing Director at BlackRock he was on the founding team of Decarbonization Partners, a JV fund with Temasek, which he scaled to $1.4B AUM. He also worked at EQT, co-founded 2 companies, exited 2 companies, made 30+ angel investments, and started his career as a remote sensing data scientist making maps. He received an BA in Geography at Middlebury College and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

 

Christian Hernandez Gallardo, WG ‘03

Christian has spent his career incubating, launching and scaling emerging technologies as an operator and investor. He has held leadership roles through the hyper growth phases of some of the world’s largest technology companies, notably as head of international business development at Facebook (Meta) and head of new markets at Google.He started his career developing systems of intelligence in the early days of “big data.” He leverages this experience to partner with and support impactful climate solutions to thrive. Prior to co-founding 2150, Christian launched a transatlantic venture capital firm with over $1 billion in assets under management. Christian holds a BA in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from The Wharton School and is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.

 

Julien Halfon, WG '02

Julien Halfon is Head of Corporate and Pension Solutions within BNP Paribas Asset Management’s Multi-Asset and Solutions investment group. Based in London, Julien is responsible for constructing customised solutions for clients, including balance sheet management, private asset and overlays. He also leads BNP Paribas Asset Management’s efforts in developing and managing Decommissioning Prefunding Solutions. Julien has extensive financial industry experience, gained within asset management, investment banking and consulting. He joined from Mercer, where he was a Senior Consultant in the Structured Solutions Group. Previous roles include Head of UK & European Coverage at P-Solve, Head of European Solutions at Lazard, Senior Consultant at Hewitt, Bacon & Woodrow and Senior Associate within European Pensions & Insurance Strategy at Goldman Sachs. He began his career as an economist at the French Finance Ministry, before working for the European Commission. Julien holds a Masters in Banking, Finance & Insurance and a Masters in International Economics & Finance, both from Paris Dauphine University, an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MA from The School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

 

Edward Lees, WG '00

Edward is co-CIO of the Environmental Strategy Group at BNP Paribas Asset Management. He started the group in 2019, focusing on listed environmental solution providers in energy, transportation, water, waste, and food industries. His group invests in developed and emerging markets and is active in primary offerings, having acted as a cornerstone investor in numerous transactions across their six funds. He was previously a founder of North Shore Partners and Clear River Capital, and a managing director at UBS and Goldman Sachs, where he ran a thematic investment group. He started his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and he holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from Amherst College.

 

Robin Stopford, WG ‘99

Robin is the CEO of Powervault, a scaling clean tech company he joined in November 2023.  For the past 20 years Robin has led corporate development for both public and private equity-backed global industrial groups through their transformational phases, latterly adding divisional leadership and turnaround to his roles.  He has  proven skills in M&A, strategy, sales acceleration and organisational transformation. Robin started his career at Rolls-Royce and Bain with a Wharton MBA.  Trained as a business coach Robin seeks to create an environment where people feel like valued members of a winning team on a worthwhile mission.
