We are excited to host our next WCUK Art & Culture community event, bringing us to the iconic Spencer House and its world-famous art collection, undoubtedly one of London's hidden gems. This event has a very limited capacity and will be members-only. Our itinerary on Saturday morning will be as follows:
10.30am-11.30am: St James walk and a deep dive into Georgian London: private gentlemen’s clubs, exclusive shops, scented hair powder, dandies and entrepreneurs, gambling, betting and drinking!
11.30am-12.30pm: Private Tour of Spencer House: built in the mid eighteenth century by the first Earl Spencer, this grand townhouse was a showcase of the Spencers’ exquisite taste and culture and served as a social and political hub for members of the Whig party. The tour of the state apartments will take about an hour.
