For our initial call on Tuesday November 3:
Please come prepared to contribute as follows:
(1) introductions - overall background, experience/approach to personal investing
(2) how you are thinking about investing in AI, what factors you are considering
(3) interesting investment ideas - these can be stocks, ETF, etc.
The way we have been thinking about framing (2) is to think about
(a) demand - where are we in the adoption cycle?
(b) supply - where are the bottlenecks? risks? (this also includes financing/funding risks)
(c) industry economics - where are profit pools? sustainability? implications for return on capital?
(d) valuation - e.g., how should hyperscalers be valued in light of potentially shifting return on capital? are semiconductors to cheap?
We don't expect anyone to have all the answers, but hope that by putting our heads together and sharing different perspectives, some parts of the puzzle will become clearer. The idea is that this remains interactive and that we build on each other's ideas and contributions.
Looking forward to speaking with many of you on Tuesday.
