This November, we are bringing the Wharton community together for a very special evening — to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights.
And this is one to share: spouses and life partners are warmly invited to join us.
We’ll gather at Chokhi Dhani, a beautiful Rajasthani Indian restaurant, for an evening of candlelight, colour, wonderful Indian food and, above all, the pleasure of being together.
At its heart, Diwali is a celebration of light, hope, renewal and community — a moment to look forward with optimism and to wish for peace, happiness and prosperity for those around us and for the wider world.
That spirit feels especially appropriate for Wharton: a community that brings together people from different countries, generations and walks of life, connected by friendship, ideas and the belief that tomorrow can be brighter than today.
And, of course, no Diwali celebration would be complete without a feast.
Tickets:
- £50 per person, including dinner and service (Members only, non-refundable and non-transferable)
- There will be a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus. When booking, please let us know your preference, together with any allergies or dietary requirements.
- Drinks are not included in the ticket price and may be ordered and paid for individually at the restaurant.
Dress for Diwali:
- Traditional Indian or Indian-inspired festive dress is very warmly encouraged.
- Sarees, kurtas, bandhgalas, lehengas, colour and a little sparkle.
- This is an evening to have some fun with. If Indian dress isn't your thing, simply come dressed for a celebration.
We would particularly love spouses and life partners to be part of the evening so bring your other half. However, a small but important clarification: this is an invitation for Wharton alumni and their spouse or life partner rather than a general plus one. As space is limited, unfortunately we cannot accommodate children, friends, colleagues, business partners or other guests on this occasion.
Please email Ashish Goyal [email protected] with your menu preference of vegetarian, non-vegetarian or vegan along with any allergies. Please also let him know the name of your spouse or life partner.
Come for the lights. Come for the feast. Come dressed for Diwali.
But most of all, come together — to celebrate friendship, community and the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
We look forward to celebrating Diwali with you.
